In community groups, posts often get buried quickly, and usually only families ask for help - rarely do helpers respond. AirBestie fixes this by actively enrolling Besties, offering incentives, and matching them with travelers who need support. This way, both sides benefit with minimal effort.◉ I am looking for a companion for my parents. Do I need to book flight tickets for the Bestie?
No. Besties are fellow travelers who have already booked their own tickets for the same route. You do not need to arrange or pay for their travel. The service is simply about matching your parents with a trusted Bestie who is already on the same flight.◉ Is AirBestie a paid service or free?
It depends. Some Besties may request compensation for their time and effort, while others may volunteer to help for free. AirBestie itself is a free platform - we do not charge any commission from Guests or Besties. If a Guest is matched with a Bestie who offers assistance voluntarily, there is no payment required.◉ How do payments work?
When we find a matching Bestie for the Guest, the Guest (or their representatives) pays upfront when booking the service. Besties receive payment after the trip is completed and the service is confirmed by the guest. This ensures accountability and trust for both parties. If the guest does not confirm within 24 hours of the flight arriving at the destination, the payment will be automatically released to the Bestie.◉ Is this wheelchair assistance?
No. Airlines provide wheelchair support. AirBestie is for communication and navigation help at airports and during flights.◉ Can the Bestie carry or manage my parents’ luggage?
No. Besties are not permitted to handle or haul passenger luggage. If your parents need assistance with their bags, we recommend requesting wheelchair assistance when booking their flight. Airlines provide staff who can help with both mobility and luggage handling throughout the airport.◉ Will a Bestie help my parents during immigration?
Besties support your parents before and after immigration - by helping with forms, guiding them to the right lines, and being there immediately after the checkpoint. Immigration officers usually speak directly with travelers, but if needed, officers may sometimes allow a Bestie to assist with translation.◉ I don't need travel assistance. Can I ask a Bestie to carry an item for me on their trip?
No. AirBestie is not a courier or delivery service. Our mission is to support elderly travelers with guidance and companionship during their journey. Besties are focused solely on assisting people - not transporting packages or items.◉ Who can become a Bestie?
Anyone bilingual and comfortable assisting. Example: Students, homemakers, and professionals from the Indian community.◉ How much can a Bestie earn?
Besties have the potential to earn up to $100 per trip, depending on the amount guests are willing to offer.◉ Does AirBestie charge any commission?
No. AirBestie does not charge any commission. 100% of the fee paid by guests goes directly to the Besties.◉ Why does the service cost up to $100?
This amount is a guest-set contribution that fully compensates the Bestie for their time and responsibility across check-in, security/immigration, boarding, and in-flight communication. For context, major airlines charge separate “unaccompanied minor” escort fees per leg or each way that are typically in the $50 - $170 range; our cap of up to $100 per trip is modest by comparison. On multi-airline itineraries, airlines often assess these fees separately for each carrier. AirBestie takes no commission - 100% of any amount you choose goes to the Bestie.
